Moving to a live account (Funded Live)

TradeDay does not leave you in simulation forever: both plans have a defined route to a real-capital account, a sub-account of their master account at the broker, on a 90/10 split.

Funded Live is not a free upgrade: you become a professional trader in the eyes of the CME and you pay for market data yourself. And if you lose the account, you are barred from evaluations for 3 months.

Real opinions

Real opinions on TradeDay

Quick verdict: TradeDay is one of the industry veterans (US, since 2020) and for a long time I ruled it out: good conditions, but prices that were too high for what it offered. That has changed. They've cut prices and, with the code ETFPROMO -55% lifetime, the Quick Pay Intraday 50K drops to $59/mo with no activation fee — one of the cheapest intraday options on the market. Trustpilot 4.6/5 with 1,409 reviews. My score: 7/10. The catch: it still needs to settle in with the new tweaks to its plans, and on Quick Pay the split starts at 50% until you build up $4,000 in profit.

My honest analysis

I tried it a while back and ended up leaving it because of its high prices. It wasn't competitive: the conditions were fine, but you were overpaying compared to the rest. Now they've updated the plans, cut prices and it's interesting again. When I used it, it was in evaluation — I didn't reach funded — so I can't give you a real withdrawal experience with them yet. I'm saying it plainly.

What I like most is that it has few plans and keeps everything very clear. Just two routes and you won't get lost:

  • Quick Pay — you choose the drawdown you prefer (intraday, cheaper, or end of day) and you can withdraw from day 1.
  • Fast Pass — end-of-day drawdown and a fast evaluation: just 3 minimum days.

All with a monthly subscription during the evaluation and no activation fee when you move to sim funded. Less noise, less fine print.

The differentiator is how cheap the Quick Pay Intraday plans are. With ETFPROMO, the 50K drops to $59/mo. For intraday, with 5 minis / 50 micros and a 6% target, it's one of the cheapest entries you'll find. And I really like the flexibility once you reach the withdrawals: on Quick Pay you request a payout on demand from day one, with no high minimum withdrawal and no consistency rule.

What I don't like is that on Quick Pay you have to build up $4,000 in profit to withdraw 80%; below that figure the split is 50%. And yes, you have to put in quite a few days in evaluation / until you unlock the good split — but I see it as the logical toll: in exchange there's no consistency rule to withdraw, something many firms do impose. I'd rather put in days without consistency than the other way around.

In my El Trader Financiado ranking TradeDay comes in at #12 with 4.2/5. It's not at the top, but it's coming off an improvement and I think if it settles in with these new tweaks it'll keep climbing.

Pros and Cons of TradeDay

Pros

  • Veteran (since 2020) with Trustpilot 4.6/5 and 1,409 reviews.
  • Very cheap Quick Pay Intraday plans — 50K at $59/mo with ETFPROMO.
  • No activation fee on any plan.
  • Just two, very clear plans (Quick Pay / Fast Pass).
  • Payouts on demand from day 1 on Quick Pay and no consistency rule.
  • You choose the drawdown intraday or end of day on Quick Pay.

Cons

  • Quick Pay splits at 50% until $4,000 in profit (80% above, 90% on Live).
  • You have to put in days to unlock the good split / the payouts.
  • Fast Pass got tougher in July 2026: new accounts carry a 45% consistency rule in Funded Sim and lower payout caps ($1,500 / $1,875 / $2,250).
  • It still needs to settle in with the new tweaks to its plans.
  • Monthly subscription during the evaluation: if you take a while, it adds up.

In short: for pure, cheap intraday, TradeDay is unbeatable on entry price ($59/mo vs the ~$790 of the Apex version with no activation fee). Apex gives you a 100% split but with caps and a 50% consistency rule. TakeProfit has the best sustained split (80/90%) and daily payouts with no minimum, but it's pricier and the drawdown turns intraday once you reach funded. If you're starting out and want to spend little → TradeDay. If you want top withdrawal conditions and don't mind paying → TakeProfit.

Who is TradeDay for?

I'd recommend it if:

  • You want cheap intraday with no activation fee to start without spending much.
  • You value a simple, clear catalog, with no twenty overlapping plans.
  • You like to withdraw early and with no consistency rule once you're funded.
  • You prefer to choose your drawdown (intraday or end of day).

I wouldn't recommend it if:

  • You want the best split from the very first dollar: on Quick Pay it's 50% until $4,000.
  • You don't want a monthly subscription and prefer a one-time payment.
  • You're looking for an already consolidated top-3 firm — TradeDay is improving but still needs to settle in.
How to start with TradeDay

If you're starting out with TradeDay, go for the cheapest plan: Quick Pay Intraday 50K.

  • Quick Pay Intraday 50K: $131 → $59/mo with ETFPROMO -55%. No activation fee, $59 reset.
  • Intraday trailing drawdown $2,000, 6% target ($3,000), 5 minis / 50 micros.
  • Payouts on demand from day 1, $250 minimum, no consistency rule.
  • If you prefer end-of-day drawdown, the Quick Pay EOD 50K variant costs a bit more.

If you want to pass the evaluation fast: Fast Pass 50K ($189 → $85/mo with ETFPROMO), EOD drawdown and an evaluation of just 3 minimum days (payout after 5 profitable days and an 80% split, with a 45% consistency rule and a $1,500 cap per payout on the 50K).
