The formula

    We remove the decimal point from the NQ closing price.

  2. 2

    We divide it by 25. The NQ only moves in 25-cent steps: without this step the results would only end in 0 or 5 and most participants could never win. Dividing by 25, everyone is in.

  3. 3

    We divide by the number of participants and keep the REMAINDER. That remainder is the winning number.

  4. 4

    The other prizes skip the same distance each time: participants ÷ number of prizes, dropping decimals. If a skip goes past the last one, it carries on from the start of the list.

What is "the remainder"?

It is what is left over after splitting into equal parts. Example: 7 ÷ 2 is 3, with 1 left over. On your phone calculator: divide, keep the whole number, multiply it by the number of participants and subtract. What is missing is the remainder.

Can the first person to enter win?

Yes, just like anyone else. The entry order only gives you your number; it is neither an advantage nor a disadvantage. A normal NQ move over an afternoon completely changes who wins, so nobody can rig it.
