Fernando Arias devotes this book to what usually stays out of the manuals: market microstructure. A psychologist, economist and trader, he focuses on how price moves beneath the chart — the dark side: the role of large operators, liquidity and the orders you don't see.

The focus is order flow and how price forms out of real orders: where liquidity sits, how it's absorbed, and why the market sometimes does the exact opposite of the pattern you were looking at. It's an approach closer to how institutional desks operate than to traditional chart analysis.

It's a recent (2025) and lengthy book, a niche one: it isn't a first read and doesn't try to be. It assumes you're already comfortable with the basics and want to understand the layer underneath. If you're just starting out, it pays off read later on.
